The Chrome extension

The extension analyzes the page you are currently viewing, entirely inside your browser, and only when you click its icon. It reads on-page elements such as the title, meta description, headings, canonical tag, structured data (JSON-LD) and image alt text.

It does not collect, store, or transmit the content of the pages you analyze, and it does not track your browsing. No page data leaves your device.

Permissions: "activeTab" and "scripting" let it read the current tab when you request an analysis; broad host access lets you run it on any site you choose to audit.

The "Full audit" button simply opens seowrench.com in a new tab — that is your choice, and from there the sections below apply.

Account and audit data (website & web app)

If you create an account, we store your name, email and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

When you run an audit, we store the URL or domain you asked us to analyze and the results, so you can view your history.

We use a strictly necessary session cookie (HttpOnly) to keep you signed in.

The WordPress plugin

The plugin does its everyday work — writing your SEO tags, analysing your pages, reading your robots.txt and llms.txt, building your sitemap — entirely on your own server. None of that reaches us, and it all works without an account.

Two things reach us, and only when you click them. Running a full-site audit sends the address of your site and an access token. Asking for a suggested title or meta description sends the page title, an excerpt of the page text, the headings, the slug, the categories and tags, the site name and the site language — as plain text. The page HTML is never sent, and neither is anything about your visitors.

Nothing is sent in the background, on a schedule, or when a visitor loads your site.

AI features

Some features write text for you: a suggested title or meta description, an explanation of a finding, a summary of a page. They run only when you ask for one, never automatically.

To produce them we send the text you are working on to model providers acting as our processors: Cloudflare (Workers AI) and Anthropic. The AI-visibility feature, which shows how assistants answer about your site, also uses OpenAI and Google. These providers process the request and return the result.

We do not use your content to train models. Suggestions are cached for up to seven days so that asking twice does not cost you twice; the cache holds the generated text, and the page content itself is not stored alongside it. We keep a record of how many credits each account spent, which does not include the text.

Payments

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details; Stripe handles them under its own security and privacy terms.

Analytics

With your consent, we use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare) to understand aggregate usage and improve the product. You can decline in the consent banner.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on service providers to operate the service: Cloudflare (hosting, database and AI models), Anthropic, OpenAI and Google (AI models, for the features described above), Stripe (payments), Google Analytics (analytics, with consent) and our email provider for transactional emails.

Your rights, retention and contact

You can request access to or deletion of your account data at any time. We retain data only for as long as needed to provide the service.
